In November 2025, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Outpatient Therapy Services took an important step toward more inclusive, compassionate care thanks to Variety Grant

The grant funded the purchase and installation of an ADA-compliant, height-adjustable changing table, addressing a long-standing need for a safe, dignified space for toileting and hygiene support during therapy sessions. For children and young adults with mobility, sensory, or developmental challenges, this addition has transformed what was once a difficult or uncomfortable experience into one rooted in respect and accessibility.

Shania Variety Grant Large

For kids like Shania, who’ve trusted us with their care for years, this really makes their visits easier, more comfortable, and far more accessible. We’re so grateful to Variety for helping us bring this to our patients.

Jaimie Vacha, physical therapist and manager of outpatient rehabilitation services

The grant supported installation of the Pressalit 1000, a wall-mounted, electric height-adjustable changing table that replaces outdated or improvised solutions. Families now have access to a clean, safe, and private space designed specifically to meet their child’s needs—reducing stress and allowing therapy sessions to focus on progress, not barriers.

A grant like this shows our commitment to caring for all patients. Something so simple can make a large impact on the care we provide.
