Join us for a delicious afternoon of competition, community, and chili at the fourth annual Young Variety Chili Cookoff with The Loop DSM Presented by Hy-Vee. Whether you're a seasoned chili master, a daring first-time competitor, or a taster with strong opinions, this event is for you.

All proceeds from the event support Variety – the Children’s Charity of Iowa, helping improve the lives of children who are at-risk, underprivileged, critically ill, or living with special needs. With more than 200 attendees and 20+ chili entries in past years, this event brings flavor and fun to a meaningful mission.

Competition Categories

• Traditional Chili
  Classic, meat-forward chili - beans optional but encouraged. Think hearty, spicy, and bold.
• Non-Traditional Chili
  Unique spins like white chicken chili, vegan options, or unexpected ingredients that break the mold.
• Corporate Entry
  Companies bring the heat! Enter under your organization’s name and compete against fellow businesses.
