Thanks to a Variety Grant, Families, Inc. has expanded its ability to serve children facing adverse behaviors and mental health challenges.

Families, Inc., a nonprofit organization serving approximately 20 counties across Iowa, and headquartered out of Tipton, Iowa is dedicated to strengthening individuals and families through therapy, education, and support services delivered in homes, offices, and communities. With the help of Variety’s grant funding, the organization was able to purchase essential counseling tools that directly enhance therapeutic services for children.

The grant funded a wide range of hands-on, child-focused resources, including counseling games, therapeutic workbooks, books, stress-relief tools, focus aids, activity materials, and incentive-based rewards that encourage cooperation and engagement. These materials play a vital role in helping children express emotions, build coping skills, improve focus, and make meaningful progress in treatment.

For counselors and therapists, having access to the right resource materials is crucial for their effectiveness in serving children with varied diagnoses and needs.
