Stanley J. Reynolds was one of the Variety Iowa Telethon founders and was instrumental in all 48 Telethons. Stanley and his late wife, Jody who passed away June 3rd of 2019, were the heart and soul of Variety Iowa. It was many years ago when their third child, Brigid, died at an early age from complications developed at birth. Jody told Stanley on the drive back from the funeral, “We are going to make her life count.” The two of them devoted themselves from that day forward to serving children across Iowa and around the world.
Stanley’s dedication and passion for improving the lives of children in need is undeniable – serving as a tireless champion for children in need across the globe. He led Variety Iowa as President from 1975-1977 and extended his service to Variety International as President in 1989-1991.
Stanley lived life to the fullest. The greatest joy of his life was his family, Jody and his five children: Stan W, Suzanne, Erin, Brooks, and Kathryn; and grandchildren: Caroline, Brooks, Caitlyn, Johnny, Cullen, William, Marilyn, and Roxy. We will miss Stan terribly, but are reminded of his benevolent spirit every day as we witness the philanthropic footprint he left behind in our community and around the world.
The family has asked in lieu of flowers please make a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity of Iowa.
